Tonogodhime in a cool, wet climate?

Anyone running tonogodhime in a cooler/wetter climate? I mean the 2x2 alternating log layers sitting directly on the ground (log-cabin style, no frame). I like the simplicity, but I worry it stays too damp here and turns into a slug hotel.

Does it work better in dry places, or is it fine if you pick the right spot?

I'm in a wet valley and it works, but placement is everything. I keep mine where it gets morning air and a little filtered sun to dry the bark. If it's tucked in a dark corner all day, it stays slick.

The alternating layers help with airflow compared to a tight crib, which matters in wet weather. I still avoid low spots and keep leaf litter cleared from the ends so the stack doesn't sit in a soggy mat.

Good to know it isn't automatically a bad idea here. I definitely have it in a low spot right now, so that might be the real issue.
